If you are thinking about purchasing a mini and have not owned a horse before please contact us and we will give you any advice you need on the care of mini horse , and will continue to provide advice and support after the sale . A horse needs to have feet trimmed every 6-8 weeks , needs wormer every 12-13 weeks, and a vaccination after an initial course once every year . The feet trimming can cost £15-25 , wormer about £10-15 and the initial vaccinations vary from vet to vet, but for one visit only about £35-40. Feed depends on how the horse is kept a bale of hay is about £3.50 in Essex and will last a miniature 5-7 days , and a handful of hard feed twice a day , a sack costs £8-10. A mini horse is a social animal and like company , ideally should be kept with another grazing partner. Falabellas are a relatively docile breed and in comparison to other smaller breeds make ideal pets for children although should be supervised as with any pet, the larger mini 's can be broken to ride for very small children and can be used as driving horses. All the horses we breed here are extremely well handled from birth we are a very small stud so can dedicate the time needed to each individual horse, unlike some larger studs .We breed as we love these miniature horses , and endeavour to use natural horsemanship skills to bring our foals along into nice well behaved and trained horses.
