The Astrex rabbit is a Rex coated rabbit with tight curls against the body, the breed standard is that of the normal rex and currently is recognised as a showable type under BRC rules.

 I have been working on the mini Astrex after a curly coat popped out in a litter of mine ,  I have mated him back to his mother to try to capture the recessive genes and see if it was a one off , and here are the results.......... one kit with a curly coat which also displays the Astrex "type " more athletic and slender , we are a long way from anything near the acceptable standard . I am always looking for more curly coat pure bred rex rabbits please contact if you think you could help with this near extinct breed , or if you have seen heard of or have any Astrex I would be very interested to hear  from you as I do not know of any other astrex breeders in the UK or Europe!.
